STEP 1: Proposing a Change to the SPASE Schema

  • Submit a written proposal to spase@groups.io prior to the monthly SPASE meeting. Your proposal should include:
    • Enumeration list additions:
      • Name of the enumeration list
      • Proposed new term and its definition
    • Enumeration list changes:
      • Name of the enumeration list
      • Old definition
      • Proposed new definition
    • Schema additions:
      • An explanation of the addition and how it will benefit the SPASE schema
      • A definition of new terms and the cardinalities -- whether it should be required or optional, and if it should be repeatable.
    • Schema changes:
      • An explanation of the change and how it will benefit the SPASE schema
      • A definition for the changes and, if applicable, the change to the cardinalities

STEP 2: Discussion and Initial Vote

  • The proposal will be discussed at the next available SPASE meeting. Following the SPASE meeting, a voting form will be created and sent to the SPASE Group for voting.
  • Pollers have the option of "yes", "no", or "maybe".
    • Those who vote "maybe" should detail any concerns in a provided text box.
    • Those who are ambivalent about their answer should abstain from voting.

STEP 3: Vote Summary

  • At the next SPASE meeting, the vote will be discussed.
  • If the vote does not pass unanimously, the concerns will be discussed. The proposal will either remain as is, or there may be modifications.
  • If all are in agreement, a verbal vote will take place. At this point, the pass threshold will be 80%*
    • *80% based on the average of the last 3 SPASE meetings

STEP 4: Changes are Implemented According to the Minor Schema Change Schedule.
